The French city of Toulouse is nicknamed “La Ville Rose” or “Pink City”, because of its abundance of pink brick buildings, a city in southwestern France close to the border with Spain, with a warm climate and friendly inhabitants.
Here are ten tourist tips, when visiting Toulouse.

  • Visit the “Capitol Palace“, the elegant building located in the Capitol Palace Square. Toulouse’s industrial character has not prevented this destination from enjoying the bosom of museums, sidewalk cafes…
  • Tour the city’s most popular Capitol Palace square, filled with cafés and restaurants, and a market for cheap and used goods.
  • Adventures in “FlyZone”, especially the free fall of parachutes, in a precise simulation of a real jump from the plane. Each trip lasts 75 seconds and requires training before participating.
  • Sunset scenes in the “Key de la Doroud”, where you like to sit by the riverside and enjoy the surrounding views: pink-colored buildings, water flowing into the riverbed, and changing the sky. When the bridges are lit, dinner is good at a nearby restaurant.
  • Visit the Augustine Museum for fine arts enthusiasts, displaying a collection of sculptures and paintings covering periods from the Middle Ages to the early 20th century. The building where the museum is housed dates back to the 14th century and was a religious edifice.
  • Visit the “Museum de Toulouse“, founded in 1796, by the naturalist Philippe Isidore Pico de La Peroz, which opened to the public in 1865 in its present location. The Museum de Toulouse is one of the world’s oldest museums and contains more than 2.5 million pieces.
  • Explore the 240-kilometer Midi Channel. The canal was built in the 17th century, with the aim of avoiding sailing ships throughout the Iberian Peninsula, which was the subject of pirate attacks. Midi hugs the boats, which take tourists on loving tours, at the moment.
  • Walk along the “Canal de Brein“, which connects the Garonne River with the “Midi Channel” and the “Canal de Garonne”. This stunning canal has attractive margins and is ideal for walking under the shade of the trees, especially during hot days.
  • Relax in the quiet Japanese garden amid the flowers. There is a red bridge, a stone garden, and a tea pavilion. Looking at the lake, a group of koi, turtles, and frogs can be seen. The garden’s seating areas, which can be visited daily, are from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Taste casserole (meat and bean soup) and purple dessert.
